Abstract

This research is a thesis that focused on the area of ​​social media and its possible effect on startup companies. The focus has been to clarify the impact of social media for startup companies and how this type of marketing can help the company attract and retain customers. Furthermore, the research will deal with companies' use of social media in their own marketing and how companies wish to be perceived using them. The report is based on six in-depth interviews with market managers or partners/owners of startup companies in Sweden. The choice of interview respondent was chosen on the basis that knowledge of the company's own journey would be included, alternatively that the person had sufficient knowledge and responsibility about the startup company's marketing on social media. The study was limited to startup companies operating in Sweden.
